Anteriormente, esteve envolvido na formação em inteligência competitiva, bem como no desenvolvimento de negócios internacionais, principalmente na África e no mundo árabe. Trabalhou vários anos no serviço de inteligência português, e ainda como director para as relações bilaterais da Direcção da Defesa e adjunto no Ministério da Administração Interna. Publicou diversos artigos académicos, de imprensa e livros sobre inteligência e política internacional. Formou-se em Relações Internacionais, com mestrado em Ciência Política e curso de pós-graduação em Segurança Internacional pela St. Andrews University.

Xavier de Figueiredo é fundador do serviço de informação Africa Monitor, com várias décadas de experiência na área de intelligence. Ex-delegado (Maputo e Bissau) da agência noticiosa portuguesa ANOP, foi também o primeiro editor do Desk Africa. Foi ainda consultor de diversos projectos empresariais em países africanos. É investigador e autor de diversos livros sobre Angola, sua terra natal.

Francisco Almeida Leite é um executivo empresarial sénior, actualmente desempenhando funções de Diretor Executivo da UNITE Parliamentarians Network for Global Health, uma organização que reúne mais de 400 parlamentares em mais de 140 países, com parcerias com a OMS, entre outras instituições. É também Presidente do Clube d’África e da União Bancária, Seguros e Instituições Financeiras da Comunidade dos Países de Língua Portuguesa (UBSIF-CPLP), duas associações de direito privado sem fins lucrativos que visam desenvolver laços institucionais, diplomáticos e comerciais entre as instituições da CPLP, as embaixadas, as empresas e os países africanos.

Anteriormente, foi Secretário de Estado dos Negócios Estrangeiros e da Cooperação, supervisionando as relações diplomáticas do governo português com Estados soberanos africanos. Foi também Administrador Executivo da SOFID, uma Instituição Financeira de Desenvolvimento Portuguesa que opera num modelo de parceria público-privada e que visa contribuir para o desenvolvimento sustentável de países com economias menos desenvolvidas, com destaque para África, e Vice-Presidente do Camões – Instituto da Cooperação e da Língua.
